Shopify product SEO audit

Find product SEO gaps across your Shopify catalog without pretending SEO is one magic score.

Audit the product data that shapes search listings and catalog quality: SEO titles and descriptions, duplicate metadata, thin or duplicate copy, image alt text, handles, and consistency issues.

This is a product/catalog SEO audit, not a storefront technical crawler. StoreCheck deliberately separates catalog findings from page speed, backlink, indexing, and theme-level SEO claims.

What StoreCheck checks

Turn catalog uncertainty into a prioritized issue list.

SEO titles

Flag missing, unusually short or long, and duplicate product SEO titles.

SEO descriptions

Find missing, unusually short or long, and duplicate SEO descriptions across products.

Product copy

Surface missing, thin, duplicate, and near-duplicate product descriptions and similar titles.

Image alt text

Identify product images with missing alt text alongside missing or invalid image data.

Handles & titles

Catch missing or duplicate handles, suspicious handle formatting, and missing product titles.

Catalog consistency

Review vendor, product type, tags, SKUs, and organization problems that make large catalogs harder to maintain.

How it works

Audit first. Review before changing anything.

01

Bring catalog data

Upload Shopify’s product CSV or connect an owned store for a live scan.

02

Separate signal from noise

Review findings by category and severity instead of manually opening every product in Admin.

03

Make deliberate edits

Use the guidance to update Shopify, then rescan so the comparison reflects what actually changed.

Common questions

Know exactly what the audit does.

Is this a full technical Shopify SEO audit?

No. StoreCheck focuses on product and catalog data: SEO titles and descriptions, duplicate metadata, product copy, image alt text, handles, and related catalog consistency. It does not claim to crawl Core Web Vitals, backlinks, schema, or every theme-level technical SEO signal.

Why can SEO fields be blank in a Shopify CSV?

Shopify can leave exported SEO Title and SEO Description fields blank when a merchant has not manually customized them. StoreCheck reports the catalog state in the export or live product data so you can decide where explicit metadata is useful.

Can I review findings without giving StoreCheck write access?

Yes. CSV scanning is read-only, and connected scans are designed to inspect catalog data. StoreCheck does not silently rewrite product SEO fields during an audit.
